Mission:
The mission of The Next Door is to provide a continuum of evidence-based substance abuse and mental health services for women in an environment of faith and healing to restore hope and a lifetime of recovery.
Summary:
The 1st Floor CA (Client Assistant), in conjunction with other Client Assistants, will be responsible for providing client supervision in a structured and supportive residential environment.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties include the following:
- Daily check-ins with manger/supervisor at the start of each shift
- Monitor all 1st floor activity by clients
- Monitor clients on the outside smoking porch. Ensure clients are engaged in appropriate conversations and spending an appropriate amount of time on the smoking porch
- Help with client flow, ensuring clients are going to the right place during transitions: dinner, evening group and snack time.
- During clients’ group times: help with room sweeps to ensure clients are in attendance
- Monitor front door to ensure anyone entering the building is approved
- Assist with any client drop-offs package(s)/bag search
- Assist with late admissions, as needed
- Assist other Client Assistants with any needs, when available
- Prepare coffee for the morning and wash, dry and fold kitchen laundry, when available
- Assist with client AMA blocks as needed
- For safety, ensuring all outside doors are locked and checking periodically
- Other duties as assigned by nursing supervisor and/or manager
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree or some college preferred.
- Minimum experience working with target population preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of substance abuse/addiction issues or related work experience preferred.
- Possess proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional therapeutic boundaries.
Other Requirements:
- 25 years of age or older with a valid driver’s License or F endorsement
- If 21 -24 years of age-will not be permitted to transport clients
- CPR Certified or willingness to obtain certification as offered by TND
