General Description

Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the CNC Saw Operator is responsible for all aspects of operating the CNC saw, including completing layouts, and inspecting finished products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Load in programs and set up saw for various materials

· Read parts lists, blueprints, and drawings

· Perform first piece inspection to ensure parts meet specifications.

· Produce quality parts.

· Be efficient as possible knowing that most parts are one off.

· Optimize setups and sawing sequences to maximize productivity, safety, and quality.

· Visually check the saw upon completion of run, note worn or damaged parts, and report any problems immediately to your supervisor.

· Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.

· Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

· Maintain departmental housekeeping standards

Qualifications:

· Must have high character, enthusiasm and desire to meet or exceed the customers’ requirements.

· Must be organized, detail oriented and dependable.

· Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

· Must be able to read complex blueprints.

· Must be proficient with a tape measure

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to operate machinery. The incumbent will regularly talk and listen, climb or balance and reach above shoulders. H/she will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and move from place to place. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. The employee will occasionallylift up to 50 pounds and maneuver several hundred pounds a short distance. The employee will frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Employees will frequently use material handling equipment, such as forklifts and cranes.

Work Environment

This job operates in a factory environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is often loud enough to require hearing protection.
