Tate Ornamental, Inc. is a family owned and operated company that has been in business since 1988. We pride ourselves on being a one-stop shop for design, fabrication, installation, and freight. We specialize in creating distinguished works of art from our fabrication of architectural metal, millwork, and stone. Our projects include stairways, railings, canopies, millwork, casework, stone and quartz. Ornamental metals include steel cold and hot roll, bronze/brass, stainless steel and aluminum.

We are searching for a skilled Finisher to join our Metal team on 2nd shift! These hours are 3:30 PM-12:30 AM. This position is responsible to paint interior and exterior structures, stainless steel, brass, bronze, muntz, and other surfaces. Your job will be important since good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits.

An excellent painter who is knowledgeable in selecting the right material for the job will thrive in this position! The ideal candidate has experience in painting with various tools while observing all safety measures. They are also reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Interprets where to find the correct finishes on blueprints and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
• Prepares surfaces for painting, staining or coloring by scraping, scotch brite or using sandpaper
• Fills cracks with the appropriate material
• Mixes paint or other material to prepare for the right color or texture
• Applies lacquer and other materials
• Maintains a clean work area
• Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices
• Conforms with state and company health and safety regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work
• Excellent attention to detail

Education and Experience:

• Proven experience as a finish painter
• Knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply paint
• Knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
• Knowledge of, and skilled in, the use of appropriate tools and materials

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
• Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to distinguish among colors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
