NARA Northwest is growing faster than ever before. We are looking for our new 2SLGBTQ+ Support Line Specialist to add to our dynamic NARA team. This is a fast-paced environment that requires lots of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This position is in-person in Portland, Oregon.

Our clients come to us for medical, dental, and mental health assistance at one of our 11 local facilities. We take pride in what we do and go above and beyond to meet our client’s needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
· Provide phone and/or video support to 2SLGBTQ+ identified individuals, families, and local community.
· Provide crisis intervention services, including referral, follow-up, cultural supports, and outreach services as necessary.
· Assess suicide risk for callers and take necessary steps to ensure safety.
· Serve as consultant and liaison with referral sources and treatment providers.
· Participate on a 2SLGBTQ+ Clinical Program System Improvement Team and assist with certain projects as the need arises.
· Participate in community mental health awareness and community outreach programs of NARA NW.
· Establish and maintain working relationships and referral systems with local 2SLGBTQ+ resources.
· Participate in integrated care meetings, site specific meetings, and mental health staff meetings as needed.
· Participate in quality assurance activities including chart reviews.
· Attend relevant training as assigned.
· Attend specialty training on 2SLGBTQ+ affirmative care.
· Work collaboratively with clients, other NARA NW staff, team members, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
· Complete progress notes and other documentation in required timeframes.
· Maintain logs and clinical records documenting support calls, follow-up, and outcomes.
· Collect outcome data as needed.
· May be tasked with organizational or clerical duties or other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in social services field or CADC credential.
· Two years paid experience in community mental health services or one year experience in crisis or referral line support work
· MHA credentialed with MHACBO.
· Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.
· Experience with crisis lines preferred.
· Experience with the 2SLGBTQ+ community preferred, as a community member or with support organizations.
NARA requires a minimum of two years sobriety/clean time if in recovery and all potential hires are required to pass a pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen and criminal background check.
