Job Summary
The Account Manager is accountable for a portfolio of assigned key accounts and is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service in both managing and support those accounts regarding their day-to-day needs, as well as intentionally and strategically growing those accounts by adding new products, new facilities, and any other type of new business.
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of assigned accounts (10-100).
- Accountable for said portfolio of accounts and responsible for supporting, retaining, and growing the accounts assigned.
- Responsible for meeting a revenue target for assigned portfolio of accounts.
- Interacting with customer over multiple channels regarding requests for quotations, lead times, order placement, expediting, or changes, the building of quotations, writing orders and communicating pertinent information proactively back to customers. Additionally, you would handle the project execution actions and overall coordination of these services.
- Establishing strategies and plans to expand the business we have with each assigned account (account Canvas Plans).
- Ability to build, maintain, and grow customer relationships.
- Grow existing accounts and manage thru direct sales and distribution.
- Administrative responsibilities to document all customer interactions.
- Coordinating with customer service for status on orders.
- Ensuring delivery commitment to customers are met, or communication is provided prior to not being met.
- Identifying decision makers amongst the assigned accounts to initiate sales process.
- Participating fully in product training sessions, meetings, skills training and Professional development classes.
- Occasionally attend local/national trade shows, and/or visit customer facilities.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years’ experience in life science sales with rich experience in Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals, and/or Biopharmaceuticals, preferred, but not required.
- Experience with successful sales growth and account management.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with sales processes.
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
- Experience selling to regulated industries.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent telephone sales personality skills.
- Prominent organization and presentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
