We are a Central Pennsylvania based Non-profit Hospice & Post-Acute Healthcare Organization specializing in home-centered care and we are seeking a talented Full Time Accountant interested in a growth opportunity. The successful candidate will have an active role in the day to day financial operations of our growing well-respected non-profit organization. This position will be responsible for general accounting duties such as journal entry, maintenance and reconciliation of payroll, AP, AR, bank accounts, investments, and preparation of financial statements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- At least 3-5 years of overall professional accounting experience including broad financial and operations management experience
- Ability to translate financial concepts to and effectively collaborate with colleagues
- Knowledge of accounting, reporting software, and Microsoft Office
- A successful track record in setting priorities. Must be detail oriented, possess keen analytic, organizational and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and dedication to the mission of Hospice of Central PA
Functions:
- Coordinate and prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, special event reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
- Interact with internal and external customers producing schedules and department financial statements
- Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable entries for accuracy
- Review and be a backup for the bi-weekly payroll
- Assists with all external auditors; gathers necessary account information and documents
- Monitors Account Receivable collection (primarily for our personal care facility)
- Analyzing data and create reports to assist management team
- Under the direction of the Finance Director, participate in organizational budget, cash flow, and forecasting
- Strong communicator who requires little supervision and answers questions as they arise
