Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for providing support to accounting supervisors and other managers within the department. The Accounting Clerk will communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments, assist with inventory, database, and record maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately completing assigned accounting functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform clerical work including receiving and processing mail.

· Updating ledgers, researching, and resolving discrepancies.

· Process bills for payment.

· Invoicing and reconciliation for varying departments.

· Responding appropriately to vendors, clients, and internal requests.

· Abide by all company procedures and accounting principles.

· Supporting accounting personnel by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks.

· Input vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records.

· Provide excellent customer service.

· Maintain confidentiality of financial records.

· Audit invoices based on purchase orders.

· Provide timely month-end close journal entries and reports.

· Other duties as assigned.

· A complete or comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

· The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· High level of accuracy and efficiency.

· High level of integrity and trustworthiness.

· Willingness to comply with all company, local, state, and federal financial regulations.

· Courteous, professional demeanor, strong customer service skills.

· Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software (Axiom).

· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.

· Critical thinking and ability to problem-solve.

Education & Experience

· A high school diploma is required. An associates or bachelor’s degree is preferred.

· 1-2 years of clerical accounting experience.

· Previous experience with accounting systems (Axiom is preferred).

Miscellaneous:

Physical Requirements-While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to sit; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use hands handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. Some bending, lifting, and standing may be required.
