Job Summary
ACCO Brands is seeking an Accounting/ Finance Management Development Associate to join our Finance Development program. This exciting role offers rotational assignments in the following areas.
- General Accounting
- Cost Accounting
- Internal Audit
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Risk Management
- Treasury
- Business Decision Support
Hands on experience in various rotations over 3 – 5 years, giving the associate exposure to different businesses and functions, interaction with Finance leadership and executives, and opportunities to lead or play a key role on process improvement or other initiatives outside their day-to-day responsibilities. Rotations provide opportunities to develop their leadership skills in addition to expanding their business, finance and accounting acumen.
The successful candidate will be required to complete all CPA credit hour requirements and pass the CPA exam prior to completing the rotation program. ACCO Brands offers reimbursement to participants in this rotation program for review classes and CPA exam fees, as well as salary incentive upon successful completion of the full CPA exam.
Opportunity to be paired with a senior member of the Finance function as their mentor.
Responsibilities
- Assume and discharge real responsibilities by established deadlines. Responsibilities vary by rotation, but could include preparing and/or analyzing accounting transactions, preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data for trends or anomalies, cash management and foreign exchange activities, performing or testing internal controls and other accounting or finance activities
- Work in a team environment and will work across the matrix organization with the expectation that hard work and support will make their team successful.
- Have direct exposure to senior management and begin to grasp leadership attributes.
- Become a mentor for future development associates
- Hybrid in-office work schedule (ability to work from home 2-3 days per week, depending on rotation role)
Qualifications
- Recent college graduate (or Spring 2023 graduate) from a four-year undergraduate university program. Accounting majors preferred but will consider Finance majors with a minor/concentration in Accounting.
- Strong academic performance, with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Demonstrated leadership skills through work, college campus activities and/or community service
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Enthusiasm, strong initiative and determination to succeed
