Accounting Specialist
Perform routineaccounting activities related to Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, FixedAssets, Weekly Reporting, Month End Close Activities, Accounts Payable, variousaccounting reporting and record keeping

Job Summary
- Process customer invoices and maintain A/R by working closely with Corporate A/R, Program Managers and Customer A/P to ensure timely resolution and collection of outstanding A/R.
- Assist with cash allocations.
- Maintains A/R Aging and runs weekly reports.
- Maintains invoice logs.
- Communicates issues, trends and collection of cash advances.
- Performs fixed asset audit and tagging of assets.
- Backup and support Accounts Payable.
- Assist with PWC, SOX, Internal Audit requests and performs other duties as assigned to support the department.
- Timely check and validation of employee hours from putty to Kronos, assists supervisors with issues, runs payroll reports.
- Maintain files for labor hours.
- Run weekly reports.
- Month end Closing responsibilities include creating and keying journal entries.
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts with supporting details.
- Maintain department month end close records and obtaining required sign offs.
- Create and maintain work instructions, as needed.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
- Responsible for maintaining a proactive safety environment in one’s work area.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Organization skills, with emphasis on attention to detail.
- Critical thinking skills and good decision making thought processes.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills including the ability to articulate complex ideas in a simple manner.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate at all levels within the organization and with business partners.
- Familiarity with accounting terms and principles.
- Proficient with time and attendance system or ability to learn.
- Ability to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and also in team environment.
- Problem solving skills.
- Computer literate in all Microsoft and Outlook programs. Prefer advanced skills in Excel.
- Ability to learn and navigate software programs, run reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities timely and efficiently within a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends, as needed.
Required Experience and Education
- High School diploma required; 2 yr. or 4 yr. college or business administration degree preferred, but not required.
- 1 year of accounting or administrative experience required; 2 – 4 years of progressive accounting or administrative experience preferred.
