Role
Philo is looking for a dynamic and organized individual to support accounting and office management needs for both Philo Ventures and Keysy, a Philo portfolio company developing a modern digital marketplace for pre-owned vehicles. The Accounting Specialist will primarily be focused on supporting the launch of Keysy, with ownership of day-to-day accounting processes and responsibility to ensure that best practices are applied to Keysy's accounting efforts from Day 1. Critical to the successful launch of Keysy, the Accounting Specialist will report to Philo’s CFO, located in Lehi, UT.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day automobile sales accounting, including billing, A/R, A/P, G/L
- Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports
- Maintain and improve upon a robust accounting system for this online used car dealership
- Assist in preparation of forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows
- Provide proactive / unsolicited consultation and interpretation of complex financial and operational matters
- Collaborate with the CFO to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis
- Provide support for various administrative needs and responsibilities for both Philo and Keysy
Experiences and Skill Set
- At least 7 years’ experience in a similar position, knowledge of used car sales accounting a bonus
- Demonstrated expertise in QuickBooks Online
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
