We are currently hiring a Part-Time Accounts Receivable Specialist for our Unionville location.
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist will manage customer accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments are applied to accounts. The AR Specialist is responsible for the accounting tasks, analysis, and problem resolution related to processing AR and maintaining accurate account records. This is a Part-Time Position working 4-5 hours per day, approximately 25 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments and identifies accounts that need to be prioritized and escalated.
- Collect on delinquent customer accounts.
- Process credit applications, performs credit inquiries, and recommends credit limits for customer accounts.
- Evaluate accounts, establish payment plans, and maintain proper follow-up with customers.
- Apply cash receipts to customer accounts, prepare bank deposits, and deposit funds on a regular basis.
- Provide quality customer service while maintaining customer files.
- Research customer discrepancies, discusses any deviation from client payments plans, and keeps AR system as clean as possible.
- Review and release orders on hold for credit limit issues and notify customers of orders on hold.
- Evaluate accounts for proper state sales tax certificates. Request updated state sales tax certificates when necessary.
- Various other AR tasks.
- Answering company phones and providing exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in the related field is required.
- 5 years of progressive responsible experience in Accounts Receivable or an equivalent combination of education and experience, that enables performance in all aspects of the position.
- Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures.
- A friendly personality.
- Willingness to learn new tasks.
- Attention to detail.
