Centrally located in Torrance, California, Sunnyside Nursing and Post-Acute Care provides sub-acute nursing care, rehabilitation services, skilled nursing, and long-term care. Job Description
- Collaborating with staff and clinicians to understand the ways in which activities can promote healing and belonging
- Conducting needs assessments to physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities
- Determining individual interests and expectations regarding leisure time
- Developing an activities program that is both sufficiently diverse and sensitive to our residents' requirements.
- Purchasing or leasing supplies for all activities.
- Sourcing, training, monitoring, and supervising the work of Activities Assistants and Visitaiton Screeners.
- Completing and posting employee schedule
- Working on finding coverage for open positions and shifts
- Advertising events well in advance of their scheduled times
- Supervising and participating in events alongside staff and residents
- Participating in various committees including but not limited to Quality Assurance and Behavior
- Compiling periodic reports that outline successes, constraints, and the way forward
- Coordinating holiday and special events celebration for resients and staff
- Bringing innovative ideas to the Activities Department to keep up with the changes in healthcare and demands of the residents.
Requirements
- Appropriate training and/or certification.
- Demonstrable experience as an Activities Director: $62,000 - $72,000
- Computer literate
- Event planning, and supervision skills.
- Upbeat, communicative, and empathic personality.
- Committed to fostering well-being and fun.
