POSITION DETAILS:
- Position Title: Addiction Counselor
- Department: Hillsboro Outpatient
- Employment Status: Full-Time
Fora Health is seeking an addictions counselor (AC) for its Hillsboro-based outpatient substance use disorder treatment program. The AC will be a core member of a new multi-disciplinary team charged with expanding access to medications to treat addiction in the Hillsboro area, with a particular focus on improving access to care for the Latinx population. The AC will be expected to work closely with a recovery mentor, a medical provider, and other Hillsboro counselors to provide evidence-based behavioral health interventions to all Hillsboro patients. The AC should also have a robust understanding of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, medication-supported recovery, and harm-reduction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CADC I or higher at hire
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by date of hire, in accordance with OAR 333-019-1010
- Willing and able to work both as a part of a team as well as independently
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and able to become proficient in current EHR system
- Effective and compassionate verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills.
We encourage applications from those in recovery, but we require 2+ years of continuous sobriety for candidates who identify with being in recovery. A DHS criminal background investigation is conducted on all new employees. Convictions are evaluated for each position and are not necessarily disqualifying.
