Job Description: Administrative Assistant

Odd Jobs provides home improvement and small project remodeling assistance to our wonderful customers in the Greater Lansing area. We are currently seeking an administrative assistant to help us as we continue to grow. The administrative assistant will work with the lead carpenters, production manager, and operations team in daily and project related tasks to include scheduling assistance, time tracking, trade partner relations, invoicing, minor accounting duties, and customer relations. The right candidates will be customer-service oriented as well as the desire to work in a team-based environment.

Employment Type:

Part Time (~20 hours per week) with flexible daily schedule.

Compensation: $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience.

Overall Responsibilities and Duties:

- Assist the production and operations group with daily tasks.

- Calling customers to schedule work and verify appointments.

- Create purchase orders and manage minor accounting.

- Assist production manager with material tracking and purchases.

- Assist production team with daily time tracking and project closeout.

- Answer phone calls.

- Set up project information and billing for new and existing customers in the Odd Jobs system.

Requirements:

- Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.

- Active working knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel).

- Able to pass a complete background check.

- Experience with Quickbooks software a plus.

- Ability to be personable and work with varying personality types.

- Must be detail-oriented and organized working with minimum supervision.

Schedule:

Timing of work is flexible averaging four hours per day during standard business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Work to be completed on site in the Odd Jobs office.Job Description:

Our lead technicians perform a wide variety of skilled home improvement related tasks with high quality and with a great attitude as they perform the work in our customer’s homes. The lead carpenter will occasionally work with the assistance of our technicians when multiple team members are required.

Employment Type:

Full time (~40 hours per week).

Compensation: $30 to $40 per hour depending on experience.

Overall Duties:

  • Travel to jobsite in Odd Jobs provided fully outfitted vehicle. Odd Jobs will provide all tools necessary for the work to be completed.
  • Professionally represent the Odd Jobs brand through great customer service and high quality of completed work.
  • Safely operate power tools as required for home improvement activities.
  • Perform designated home improvement tasks efficiently and independently in a highly skilled workmanlike manner or with occasional assistance of Odd Jobs technicians.
  • Clean up of jobsite.
  • Track hours of tasks and material purchases.
  • Using Odd Jobs systems, create invoices for customer.
  • Collect payment from customers at end job via credit card or check.
  • Report to Odd Jobs office on completed work status.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Professional level skillsets and experience in a wide variety of home improvement and or general labor related tasks (must be able to demonstrate).
  • Able to pass a complete background check.

Schedule:

All work will be completed during standard business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
