Qualifications and Detail about the Position

Summary:

Works with VP of Finance and Billing Department to pursue due and delinquent customer payments. Ensure the accurate and timely reconciling, calculating and processing of invoices. Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.


Responsibilities :

  • Work with Billing Team to ensure the capture of all possible revenue.
  • Initiates both verbal and written contact with identified customers
  • Prepare and distribute account statements for customers
  • Troubleshoots and keeps track of outstanding payment issues and generates weekly aging reports.
  • Conducts account research, analysis, and problem resolution of the company's outstanding accounts and the application of payments
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and interacting with customers.
  • Enters valid or authorized deductions to customer accounts.
  • Resolves customer accounts by examining payment plans and payment history to determine if collection letters need to be sent out on delinquent accounts.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prior accounting experience and understanding of common business practices.
  • Experience in construction related field a plus.
  • Must be PC proficient and strong experience with MS Office and Excel and other large automated accounting systems.

  • Problem Solving – Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information proficiently. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and acts rationally even when dealing with emotional topics. Proven capable of developing and implementing cost saving measures.
  • Oral/Written Communication/Tech Skills – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. An active listener, responds well to questions and participates in group meetings/discussion. Proficient in Microsoft Excel: VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables

  • Professionalism – Follow instructions, responds to management direction. Reacts tactfully under pressure. Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position. Accepts responsibility for own actions and follows through on commitments.
