The Queens County District Attorney's Office is currently seeking applicants for an Administrative Assistant to help support the Office's Intake and Assessments Bureau. The Intake and Assessments Bureau is responsible for assessing and analyzing charges at the arrest stage of a criminal prosecution. Administrative Assistant will report to the Bureau Chief and be responsible for a variety of administrative duties including, but not limited to:- Answering telephone and in-person inquiries from members of the public, victims, complainants, attorneys, police officers and QDA staff
- Managing the Bureau Chief and Intake Bureau Assistant District Attorneys' (ADAs) calendars
- Maintaining case files and drafting reports, as required
- Assisting with data entry, document uploads and searching for information in the Office's Case Tracking System
- Scanning, uploading, reviewing and redacting documents and exhibits
- Generating monthly case reports for Bureau meetings
- Making required email notifications, entering information into templates and drafting letters/documents, as needed
- Maintaining inventory/distribution of office supplies
- Delivering folders and other documents to the court and other QDA buildings, as required
- Assisting with other administrative duties, as assigned
All candidates must have at least a high school diploma or its educational equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and/or experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior administrative experience, including experience with data entry into computerized systems and handling documents of sensitive nature (filing, delivering, scanning, etc.); and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Candidates must also have the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
Candidates must be able to regularly work Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., however, in some instances schedule changes and/or overtime may be required to complete certain tasks.
Job Details:
Salary range: $44,083 - $50,000 (Commensurate with experience)
