Job description

Great position for someone with experience caring for animals. Daytime position (8am)16-25 hours per week with rotating schedule. Background check completed; must have a valid drivers license and own transportation to the job. Required to be on time to work, efficient worker. Nonsmoking location.

Animal caretaker/Ranch hand position responsibilities includes:

• following established cleaning, feeding and animal care procedures (animal habitat and property) with responsibilities such as mucking, cleaning waterers, throwing hay, general shelter upkeep etc;
• following established safety procedures for all aspects with emphasis on animal observations and cleaning;
• report concerns about animal behavior and health to supervisor;
• report safety and maintenance issues to supervisor;
• cross train to animal and equipment, supply use to gain familiarity and comfort following procedures and protocols on all properties;
• assist in disaster preparedness and staffing affecting the Ranch
• honor confidentiality of business;
• implement and stay up to date with policy and protocol changes;
• handle animal care humanely and safely at all times demonstrate a high quality of work standards and ethics
• perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and experience required:

• Animal care (specifically horse although this is not a position caring for horses but skills transferable) experience required

Physical demands

• Standing long periods of time, walking an extended period of time

• working outdoors in all forms of weather, including heat, cold, humidity, sun or rain
• use manual dexterity to handle/reach items and work with hands
• use close, distant, peripheral and depth perception
