Job description
Our Company is looking for an experienced apartment maintenance technician for our affordable housing community. We need someone who possesses mid-level skills in handling a wide array of maintenance responsibilities and a willingness to foster positive relationships with residents.
The ideal candidate will be able to satisfactorily:
- Survey grounds and building structures to ensure they are consistent with healthy and safety standards
- Determine weekly and daily maintenance tasks based on work order and make-ready schedules
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems
- Conduct routine preventive repairs when necessary
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Prepare vacant units for market, including painting, drywall, carpentry, and general repairs
- Assist in ordering supplies and identifying contracted work bids in consideration of property maintenance budgets
- Perform routine (monthly/quarterly) unit inspections and schedule repairs based on documented findings
- Attend and participate in ongoing learning/training opportunities as presented by the Company for continuous improvement purposes
- Assist with hazardous weather problems, fires, floods, freezes, etc. as applicable
- Perform on-call emergency work in the evenings/weekends as required.
- Perform any and all other tasks as assigned within the scope of duty for this department/position
Employment Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (Required)
- Must own and be able to use basic tools required for the job (Required)
- Lift/move up to approximately 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation (Required)
- Must be able to work on feet for multiple hours per day (Required)
- 1+ years of apartment maintenance experience (Preferred)
