Applications Consultant - AEC
The Applications Consultant will have direct responsibility for delivering on our Services Revenue Plan and is also responsible for providing the pre-sales support for the sales team. Additionally, the Applications Consultant has responsibility for aiding with the delivery of customer support, services, and marketing support while maintaining the required level of software and technical expertise.
Essential Duties

  • PRE-SALES SUPPORT:
  • Provide technical applications support for assisting the sales effort of Account Managers. Support includes technical presentations, product demonstrations, and technical discussions.
  • Develop and provide standard demonstrations which emphasizes product capabilities.
  • Develop and provide custom demonstrations utilizing client data.
  • Provide technical benchmarks to designated clients and be responsible for all resulting correspondence related to the successful completion of the benchmark.
  • Work closely with Account Managers to develop sales strategies which define goals related to client software purchases.
  • END USER TRAINING:
  • Provide end user product training.
  • Maintain and uphold high standards in quality of training as established by manager.
  • Motivate, lead and support students.
  • Must have flexible schedule to meet client’s needs.
  • Present curriculum in an easy to learn method.
  • Follow curriculum as established by the team.
  • Research and plan for new course offerings.
  • Evaluate and learn software to adequately deliver classes.
  • Develop custom curriculum as directed by manager.
  • Prepare course descriptions as required.
  • Provide input for the improvement of existing courseware as necessary.
  • Provide training courses as required.
  • Render training related consultative services as needed.
  • Maintain remote training centers:
  • Provide fresh software and courseware on all workstations to ensure consistency of training experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness of training rooms.
  • SERVICES:
  • Provide custom consulting services to clients regarding identification and implementation of technology, training related such as over-the-shoulder mentoring, and design and engineering consulting related work.
  • HELPDESK/CUSTOMER SUPPORT:
  • Participate in helpdesk activities on escalated calls in conjunction with the helpdesk team.
  • Maintain customer contact through telephone conversations and mailings to ensure customer satisfaction with products and services purchased through the company.
  • MARKETING SUPPORT:
  • Assist with marketing efforts requiring technical knowledge regarding supported products.
  • Assist in the scheduling, setup, and tear-down for all assigned seminars, demonstrations, and presentations.
  • Create content for marketing such as blog articles and videos.
  • SOFTWARE/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
  • Maintain knowledge of supported products and attend related training offered by software suppliers.
  • Responsible for evaluation and recommendation of software products for inclusion in company offerings.
  • Maintain competitive knowledge to leverage, as needed, in sales situations.
  • OTHER:
  • Maintain an open line of communication for colleagues such as cell phone access, telephone access when working away from office, and e-mail access.
  • Complete all required inter-office activity such as activity tracking, calendars, communication with front desk, etc.
  • Participate on internal company teams which target company improvements goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Thorough industry knowledge and experience regarding architectural engineering and construction.
  • Strong technical product knowledge of Autodesk Revit and related Revit extended capabilities such as MEP and Structure, Autodesk Docs, AutoCAD, BIM 360, BIM Collaborate, Build, Takeoff, and Navisworks.
  • Proactive, strong, and enthusiastic with great people skills.
  • Minimum five years industry experience in a design/development capacity.
  • Degree in Engineering or industry equivalent experience.
  • Ability to coordinate and participate in defining sales strategy.
  • Aptitude to quickly learn new products.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to talk in front of groups.
  • Ability to estimate effort to prepare and to deliver clear, concise product demonstrations.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive to customer locations
  • Ability to travel and work independently.
  • Proven ability to act as consultant and to evaluate and document clients’ requirements.

Travel Required: 50%
Physical Requirements: Lifting of mobile training lab cases that weigh up to 50 lbs.
