Full Job Description: Apprenticeship Navigator

This individual is the primary contact for apprenticeship coordination efforts in the region. This positions reports to the Business Services Manager, and is subject to the availability of funds under WIOA and Sector Partnership grant funds. Current sector partnership grant funds for the local area expire June 30,2023.

What will I be doing?

  • Market Registered Apprenticeship/Pre-Apprenticeship to employers to increase the number of apprentices for new programs while expanding on existing programs
  • Support employers and stakeholders by generating events through roundtables, meetings, and conference participation
  • Participate in any new Request for Application process to receive new awards
  • Complete quarterly reports for Office of Apprenticeship
  • Collaborate to create Memorandum of Understandings with partners
  • Data enter apprentices in the Apprenticeship Information Management System as needed
  • Oversee partner invoicing, budget monitoring and auditing
  • Assist business consultants and other WorkSource staff in structuring and delivering apprenticeship opportunities to employers and education partners
  • Follow up with employers throughout the service cycle of apprenticeship/pre-apprenticeship to ensure needs are being met
  • Present and demonstrate Workforce Three Rivers value to employers, employer associations, chambers, and economic development councils in the Three Rivers region- specifically on Registered Apprenticeship or Pre-Apprenticeship
  • Compile and analyze data to find trends based on employer needs
  • Building long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with external contacts and internal departments to create a better customer experience
  • Works in an advisory role with WorkSource Three Rivers
  • Focused on enhancing employer experience with Workforce Three Rivers

Key Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple employers/projects while looking for new opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and craft solution
  • Strong time management skills
  • Able to demonstrate experience with computers and software applications including Microsoft Office
  • Use critical thinking skills to find solutions
  • Organized, detailed and innovative

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
  • 2 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, post-secondary education or in job related duties

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the apprenticeships and workforce development programs;
  • Experience with business engagement and/or economic development activities;
  • Experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs.

Other Requirements:

Must be willing and able to drive said vehicle throughout multi-county service area. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and/or overtime if needed. Some overnight travel may be required. Must be able to lift at least thirty pounds. Must pass required drug screen, background check and Motor Vehicle Report. Must conform to standards of conduct. Must present a professional appearance and business demeanor. The Commission reimburses travelers for reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in connection with approved travel on its behalf.
