JOB TITLE: Assembly Shop Technician JD- 2218

LOCATION: Knoxville, Tn

Position Title: Assembly Shop Technician
Reports to: Assembly Shop Supervisor
Supervises: N/A

POSITION PURPOSE

Under the supervision of the Assembly Shop Supervisor, the Assembly Shop Technician performs a variety of routine semi-skilled activities. The major responsibility is constructing items in the facility including small assemblies and the final product based on instructions and specifications outlined by the customer and the
Engineering Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs a variety of routine semi-skilled activities including but not limited to assembly, wiring, and construction of final Locomotives or parts thereof.
• Install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies based off of

Engineering drawings.

• Work from layout drawings, point-to-point wire lists and wiring schematics.
• Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
• Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocol.
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
• Build positive relationships with coworkers and supervisors.
• Performs all activities in accordance with the ISO 9001 & AAR Quality Management Systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

• Have a High School Diploma or GED (further education preferred).
• One year of relevant work experience.
• Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
