Job description
The Assistant Director of Special Education supports the Director of Special Education in his/her responsibility for the
special education and related services across the district. Under the supervision of the Director, the Assistant Director
will implement systems of leadership, support and guidance for school and district personnel, so that educational
programs for students with disabilities (SWD) are implemented in compliance federal and state laws, rules and regulation. The Assistant Director assists in scheduling and chairing CSEs, as well as in the coordination for data and state reporting, special education policies and procedures, programming, transition programming. The Assistant Director provides assistance in the coordination of and preparation for instruction, transportation, extended school year, family and stakeholder engagement.
