Blooming Landscape & Design, LLC (BLD) is expanding and looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to help with landscape design and planning services for the upcoming season, which runs from the beginning of April to the end of November.
The Assistant Landscape Designer position will assist with creating conceptual landscape design plans and 3-D renderings for private and commercial clients that reside in Durango, Colorado and the Four Corners Region using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite or some other type of landscape design software. The designer will meet with clients, take measurements and conduct thorough site analyses. The approximate work load is about 20 hours per week or more depending on need. Blooming Landscape & Design is a full service landscaping company providing landscape planning, design, installation and maintenance services within Durango and the Four Corners Region. We specialize in regenerative, ecologically-friendly landscapes, using native, perennial plants when possible, harvesting rain and stormwater, and creating gardens that require less maintenance after being established. BLD is also certified in permaculture design and installs food forests on both urban and rural properties. We value the health of our clients, pollinators and birds and therefore are committed to being a pesticide and herbicide-free business. Our organic maintenance practices and biodynamic soil remedies attempt to restore biodiversity and bring resilience back into the landscape. Pay: $22-$26/hour depending on experience
Qualifications
- Must have some degree or certificate in landscape design, environmental design or landscape architecture
- Experience and knowledge of landscaping practices and plants for the Southwest and in particular Southwest Colorado preferred.
- Some knowledge of permaculture design preferred but not necessary
- At least 6 months of AutoCAD experience
- Experience with SketchUp or some other type of 3-D rendering software
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
- Versed in producing easily interpreted, attractive, innovative design solutions using a computerized design program
- Reliable, hard-working, fun, respectful, and flexible team-player who can also work independently
- Efficient and skilled in time management
- Organized and willing to integrate with the systems used by the company
- Able and willing to track and record work progress on multiple platforms including Google Drive
Eligible Candidates Must
- Must have high school diploma and a degree or certificate in landscape design, environmental design or landscape architecture
- Be willing to learn, or adapt to, the practices of this business
- Have a working computer
- Have a cell or smart phone to communicate with the owner when needed
- Have a positive attitude and strong attention to detail

Blooming offers paid and sick leave, bonus pay and a commission for each design.
