Basic Functions:

To sort and promptly distribute all incoming first class, periodical, international, inter-office and Priority Parcel mail on a daily basis. Collect out-going mail and parcels from internal sources for same day processing.

Major Duties:

1. Sort and deliver incoming mail/Priority Parcels as described in the basic functions section.
2. Pick up and process outgoing first class mail and parcels for priority services.
3. Provide accurate records of delivery logs requiring confirmation signatures and electronic indicia. (includes pink and confidential envelopes)
4. Answer telephones and assist internal clients in relation to their needs.
5. Weigh and process outgoing first class mail using the automated posting system.
6. Pack and secure oversize parcels for shipping.
7. Properly stage and log parcels for Melville/Downtown and PADC shuttles.
8. Inform clients of the capabilities of the Mail Services Department on demand.
9. Pick up magazine and school supply’s donations from designated areas twice daily.
10. Prepares and sorts mail carts after final distribution and collection run for next day a.m. run.
11. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director, Manager and/or Supervisor.
12. Provide support as necessary for the Office Services operation.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

1. Partner with HVAC mechanic and Property Manager on climate control related issues for all floors.
2. Collaborate with shipping vendors to ensure shipment
3. Perform daily facility inspections to capture and address, i.e. lighting, pantry and restroom maintenance. If required escalate to vendors for resolution.
4. Compile and submit data for monthly Occupancy South Mail Services inbound/outbound activity reports.
5. Provide receptionist/ porter/matron services support i.e. Audio Visual assistance and perform furniture relocations, pantry maintenance and food set ups.
6. Execute small internal/external relocation move activity and partner with the move team.
7. Undergo recognized hazardous material shipment training for consumer commodities.
8. Ensure and supply all applicable signage to air parcels in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration shipping guidelines.


Qualifications


Minimum Years Experience required:
2 years experience in the Mail Services environment desirable.
Educational Requirement: High School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge/Skills required: Basic computer skills as well as the ability to communicate in a very professional and concise manner
