The Assistant Administrator works closely with the School Director (Head of School) to ensure that the school provides a high-quality learning experience for children, exceptional customer service to parents, and a supportive, collaborative work environment for staff. The ideal Assistant Administrator will love building community, working with staff on learning and practicing the Montessori method and philosophy, and promoting parents understanding of a Montessori learning environment.
Hours: 10:30am-6:30pm
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the creation of a strong culture on campus that embodies the mission of our organization
- Giving tours to prospective families, and converting leads to enrolled families
- Leading and supporting one-on-one check ins with lead teachers during planning periods
- Supporting Montessori curriculum for the Infant-Elementary classrooms
- Supporting the School Director in driving the enrollment process (managing leads utilizing a CRM system)
- Supporting the School Director in school initiatives
- Overseeing student drop-offs and/or pick-ups
- Supporting in staff scheduling and coverage
- Answering phone calls, greeting parents and families
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience with various forms of office software and equipment
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with staff across multiple departments
- Solution orientated and works well with a team
- Creates initiatives that better support and improve the organization
- An up-stander who is willing to support and advocate for marginalized groups to create an inclusive learning environment
Job Requirements Include:
- Submit 3 reference letters upon hire
- Willing to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 30lbs
- Ability to move from seated to standing position quickly
- Ability to pass a background check and TB test
- Ability to support in classrooms when needed
- COVID-19 vaccine required prior to start of employment
Education Requirements
- Montessori Certification (or training without completion of practicum)
- A minimum of an Associate Degree in childhood development or early childhood education
- 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education
- Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential
- 3 semester hours of college credit in administration, leadership or management OR
- 3 points of credential-approved training in administration, leadership or management
