THE DEPARTMENT

The following teams make up the Technology department: Business Analysis and Quality Assurance, Applications Development, Applications Support, and Engineering. The group identifies and develops technological strategies that support GVI’s business goals and objectives to ensure internal and external partners are provided with stable systems. These include: all desktop, network, phone and email systems, applications (reservations and operations systems), websites, and Internet access.

THE ROLE

An Associate Applications Developer works with and supports other developers, applying training in information technology and computer programming to the design, modification, and maintenance of applications programs.

Software developers are responsible for serving the business and contributing to its success. Such service will be realized by championing personal, team, departmental, and company goals and strategies with a commitment to excellence and a spirit of perseverance.

THE POSITION

Associate Applications Developer is responsible for the following results:

• Maintain and enhance a mixture of business software
• Follow GVI Technology standards for analysis, design, programming, testing, and support of software solutions
• Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing tasks as assigned
• Promote positive relationships internally and externally
• Seek to present zero defect products to the Quality Assurance and Production environments
• Seek continual improvement of system availability, performance, and workflow

EDUCATION

The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years related experience with the technology required.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:

• Project development methodologies (full development lifecycle) with Agile/Scrum/DevOps experience
• Trouble analysis and resolution with individual software applications and multi-application interfaces
• Travel industry business a plus
• Global Distribution System (GDS) experience is highly sought
• Required Technical Skills:Programming Language- C#

Database – knowledge of relational databases like Oracle
Application Tools – Visual Studio 2019/2020
Desktop Software – Microsoft Office Suite
Operating System – Windows
Software concepts and patterns – Object Oriented, Relational Database Design.

• Preferred Technical SkillsDesktop Software – TOAD

Understanding of version control, continuous integration, and deployment tools

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
