The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm’s relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm’s evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.
Senior Associate (or Junior VP) for Bank Board Management
Key responsibilities include:
  • Key liaison on matters relating to the GS Bank USA (Bank) Board of Directors, working closely and cross-divisionally with Bank Management, Bank Legal, Bank Board Admin and the GS Group Office of Board Secretary to manage the Bank Board of directors, including as described below:
      • Participate in agenda-setting discussions with Bank Management and Bank Legal
      • Draft and own schedules, mailing checklists and related documents
      • Manage presenter communications and follow up regarding deadlines, templates, and vetting/approval touchpoints
      • Manage meeting and presenter logistics in connection with meetings
      • Work together with Special Events and Technology on logistics and execution of Board of Directors meetings
  • Manage Board-related communications and communicating and managing Board deliverables, including with respect to weekly press briefing; ad hoc information sharing; new director orientation; regulatory meetings, in all cases working with Bank Management, Legal, Bank Board Admin as needed
  • Manage scheduling of external director meetings with regulators, including prep sessions and debriefs
  • Manage/own Board of Directors and Committee forward schedule; includes seeking input from relevant teams and negotiating consensus
  • Participate in “global governance” initiatives with GS Group, GSI/B, GSBE and other entities as needed
  • Assist in other Board/director matters as needed, including briefing material, talking points, material preparation, etc.
  • Help to oversee and direct Bank Board Admin, including with respect to scheduling, execution of meetings, file organization, database tracking, director T&E, and other related matters
  • Track and enforce deadlines for multiple stakeholders to ensure meeting deliverables are received timely
  • Review presentation materials for grammatical errors, typos and formatting issues

  • Resourceful, self-starter, with strong analytical, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Able to take initiative on unstructured assignments
  • Collaborative, team based individual
