Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:30
Can be on-site, remote, or hybrid. If remote, occasional travel to company headquarters will be required.

Job Summary
Our company is in search of a motivated, self-starting In-House Legal Counsel (Attorney) to support the BBC (including Green River) team, focusing on formal contracts with clients and suppliers, coordinating with and directing outside counsel for various corporate matters, attending to government relations, assisting with corporate governance topics, and creating and maintaining a corporate responsibility program. The successful candidate will be a quick study, eager to stay ahead of beverage alcohol industry topics, handle day-to-day legal affairs, and promote the growth of BBC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes beverage alcohol industry expertise to effectively protect BBC’s legal interests
- Guides decision-making process with respect to BBC’s legal matters, government affairs, and corporate responsibility
- Conducts research on a wide range of issues including BBC’s regulatory environment, employment law, insurance, real estate & other transactions, ethics, privacy, intellectual property, and other general corporate matters
- Drafts, negotiates, and manages contractual agreements timely, coordinating between departments as needed
- Review existing supplier and client contracts for appropriateness given BBC corporate strategies and industry requirements
- Manage and maintain contract database
- Mediation and conflict resolution with contractual counterparties
- Coordinate with compliance manager and outside counsel on Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) issues as needed
- Review legal, regulatory, and transactional rule changes and issues relating to the distilled spirits industry; summarize content to leadership
- Perform legal due diligence during acquisitions or similar transactions
- Identify opportunities to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness in all legal transactions
- Provide additional insight-informed ad hoc analysis
- Assist with BBC’s ISO and other certification programs
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor in Law degree from an accredited college
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Kentucky and otherwise member of Kentucky Bar Association in good standing
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Contract negotiation
- Fluency in reading and interpreting contracts, agreements, and legal compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years minimum relevant experience with a legal firm or as in-house counsel within the beverage alcohol industry
- Technology savvy with demonstrated ability to learn systems and processes quickly
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and people skills
- Experience working effectively with a deadline-driven environment
