Technical Sound Designer

Opportunity:
Formosa Interactive Seattle is looking for an Associate Technical Sound Designer with scripting skills. This is a part-time temporary (PTT) position without benefits and will be a flexible combination of on-site and remote work.
Assist the Lead Technical Sound Designer in the creation of audio systems. Setup and tune audio components within the game editor. Implement audio assets into the audio authoring tool (Wwise) end make connections to the game editor/engine (Unreal/Unity). Help solve technical challenges. Collaborate as a core member of the game development team. Become part of the growing Formosa Group audio community alongside some of the finest audio professionals across all mediums, where excellence and quality are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with audio systems design for specific game projects
- Ambient systems, impact/surface switching, weapons upgrade systems etc.
- Help trouble shoot technical issues with audio systems
- Collaborate with other Technical Sound Designer/Implementors
- Contribute to technical ‘best practices’ for Formosa Interactive games
- Create original sound design for our games
Required Skills:
- Audio scripting skills with C# (Unity) and Blueprints (Unreal)
- Audio implementation and non-linear sound design in audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD)
- Foundational understanding of game audio systems and how they interact with game systems
- Sound design in linear DAW of choice (Pro Tools, Reaper, etc.)
Preferred Skills:
- Programming experience in C and C++
Qualifications:
- 1 -3 years’ experience with game development projects
- High School education or equivalent required.
- BA/BS in applicable field preferred
