Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES: You will collect vote results for the town of Southbury, CT. The assignment has two parts.

FIRST

• On Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, you will report to the polling location at 461 Main Street South by 7:45 pm.

• After the polls close, officials will tabulate the results from that poll onsite and make them public.

• We provide you with an AP Ballot worksheet that will list the races and candidates we want to collect. Using that form, you will record vote tallies and then call them in on the AP's election hotline.

SECOND

You will leave your polling location and report to the Southbury Town Hall where results are counted for the entire town.

At Town Hall, you will call in results any time a new report becomes available.

• Once you have called in results all results for Southbury, and emailed in the town's final unofficial totals, your assignment is complete, and you may go home.
• We expect 2-5 hours of work.

COMPENSATION

• Compensation is $135, which will be paid within 14-24 days post-election. Bonus pay is provided if tabulation runs late. Payment options are Paypal and Direct Deposit.
• The AP rehires for subsequent elections. Reliable stringers will have the opportunity to return.

TRAINING/PREP

• You will receive your stringer packet which includes the ballot worksheet, instructions, and AP identification about 7-10 days prior to the election.
• The AP will hold a rehearsal on the Saturday before the election. Stringers are asked to make a 10 minute phone call during the rehearsal. Those who attend will be paid an extra $25.
