Arwood Machine seeks an Automation Technician - Robotics for our Newburyport, MA location.


Job Purpose

The Automation Technician - Robotics position is responsible for supporting multiple types of Robotics and CNC machines. Arwood operates in an environmentally controlled, state-of-the-art facility. We are committed to producing quality parts for our clients. Arwood manufactures products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices. The Automation Technician position reports to the Director of Machine Automation.


Key Accountabilities

  • Program and troubleshoot various types of Robotics and CNC machines
  • Provide technical support for the engineering department concerning automating processes
  • Design application-specific end-of-arm tooling
  • Evaluate and optimize Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities
  • Drive risk-based decision making

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Vocational School, GED, military training, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • Machine shop automation experience
  • Fanuc industrial robot and collaborative robot programming experience
  • CNC programming experience

Preferred

  • Mastercam experience
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Macro programming experience
  • PLC and digital I/O knowledge
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, practical mindset
