Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown, Ohio is busy and looking for Automotive Service Technicians!

Automotive Service Technicians function as a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair, and who has previously worked with cars in some capacity. GM certified preferred, but not required.

Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Communicates with Service Manage and Service Advisors to complete the job in a timely manner.
• Performs job to company standards.
• Produce vehicle inspection information for teammates and customers.
• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly by performing every task with safety as the number one priority.
• Maintain the image, appearance, and cleanliness of our facility.
• Participate in new technical training programs and have a desire to grow with our team.
• Use computers, tablets, and other electronics.
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks.

Automotive Service Technician Requirements:

• Previous automotive experience is required
• Desire to learn
• Enjoy working as a team and have the ability to multitask
• Ability to work around vehicles, tools, and delicate equipment
• Physically able to move around the shop (climbing stairs, ladders, etc), carry heavy objects (up to 50lbs), position your body in ways needed to repair vehicles (reach, bend, etc) and work on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Good knowledge of automobiles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Automotive Service Technician Qualifications:

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications
• GM training preferred, but not required
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous dealership and franchise experience required
• Ability to work hard with limited supervision
• Positive attitude
• High volume mentality
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screens (Background & Drug & MVR)
