Job Summary:

With little or no supervision perform work that may be of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; performs related work as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare vehicles for proper operation

• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance

• Performance testing & replacing or repairing defective vehicle components

• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles

• When required, prepares and maintains records and reports

• Ensure vehicles are safe and comply with the legal requirements

• Verify that work meets or exceeds company quality standards

• Expected to follow company policies as outlined in the company’s Employee Handbook

• Maintain an acceptable attendance record, including reporting to work on time

• Perform other duties as assigned by management

  
  

  Experience Required:

  
  

Considerable knowledge:

• Of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.

• Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs

• Handling tools and equipment, implementing safety practices when repairing and maintaining fleet of vehicles

• Repair and maintain vehicles including components such as brakes, pumps, and transmissions.

• Must possess tools to be able to perform the essentials functions

• Must meet company quality standards for all work performed

• Working knowledge of:

• Mechanical design and fabrication

• Electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems
