Job Requirements:
· Stable Auto Mechanic work history: minimum of 2 years of experience required.
· Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification required.
· Ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and AC systems.
· All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test and have a valid driver license.
Auto Technician Responsibilities:
· Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with manufacturer standards.
· Accurately diagnose cause of malfunction in a timely manner.
· Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
· Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
· Road test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
· Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clock procedures.
· Document work performed on repair order and document test procedures/results.
· Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical matter.
· Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.
· Able to explain mechanical problems and needed repairs to Service Advisors and vehicle owners in a non-technical manner.
· Ensure the customer’s vehicle is returned to them as clean as it was prior to service.
· Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.
· Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
· Maintain manufacturer training certifications and pursue ongoing training.
