About the Company

Pinckney Cookie Cafe is an artisanal cookie bakery. As we expand, we’re looking to hire team members to help us with every aspect of cookie baking and selling at the farmers market. Using the highest-quality, gourmet ingredients — and creative — twists on classic recipes, we bake better-than-homemade cookies. We also offer gluten-free and vegan “Miracle Cookies.”

Currently, we're an online and farmers market business, and we will soon be opening a retail store.

Job Description

Are you a cookie monster? Dream of being able to say that you know how to bake the world’s best cookies? As our Baking Facility & Farmers Market Associate, you’ll help bring smiles to people across the country, both making cookies and selling them at the market. Working closely with our business founder, youll gain professional baking, e-commerce operations, and sales experience, as well as mentorship and networking opportunities. Our company is small and rapidly-growing, and there is a significant career growth trajectory for the right candidate.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental to all aspects of the cookie-making process, from baking, packing, and shipping cookies to selling cookies at the farmers market. It’s a dynamic opportunity to learn, grow, and flex your customer service superpowers while working in diverse business environments.

Job responsibilities include:

• Following Pinckney Cookie Cafe proprietary recipes and production methods with precision to ensure consistent quality across production
• Effectively using scales, commercial-grade ovens and other equipment necessary to bake cookies
• Executing all aspects of the daily workflow in a smooth and efficient fashion, including: measuring ingredients, mixing cookies, scooping cookies, washing dishes, packaging cookies, packing and shipping cookies, cleaning, sanitizing and restocking workstation, and preparing for farmers markets
• Complying with all health and safety guidelines, including personal hygiene and in particular, a diligent focus on food safety
• When attending events or farmers markets: setting up, engaging with customers, and closing down

Job Position Requirements:

• You possess strong attention to detail and consistency, and you are meticulous to both following directions and understanding the importance of those directions to cookie quality and food safety
• You love to bake. Previous experience in hospitality/food is a plus
• You have the ability to handle significant physical work. This includes being on your feet all day and lifting/moving bulky items, such as 35 lb. tubs of cookies
• You bring positivity and a team attitude to work, and a willingness to take initiative and offer support in whatever way is needed at the time
• You have consistent access to a vehicle
• You must be able to speak, read and write English
• You have a flexible schedule and are able to work specific days of the week and one weekend day
• You are 21 years of age or older
• You have a WA food handlers' permit

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
