GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for applications and renewals for wholesale distributors, controlled substance registrants, pharmacies, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, and others. This includes preparing applications for mailing, reviewing applications for completeness, corresponding with applicants and licensees, updating databases, and issuing license certificates. This position compiles and analyzes a variety of licensing data and information and prepares related reports. This position assists the executive director with the preparation of correspondence and notifications to licensees. This position takes and prepares minutes for board meetings, and also assists in training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
  • Support Board of Pharmacy operations.
  • Compiles and analyzes a variety of licensing data and information and prepares related reports.
  • Provides technical assistance to the public regarding licensing procedures, regulations, and statutes.
  • Conducts, reviews, and evaluates licensing programs to provide for program enhancements.
  • Assist clerical/administrative support staff.
  • Attends, takes minutes, and prepares necessary records for meetings.
  • Administers licensing database.
  • Prepares routine response/notification letters to licensees/applicants for licensure.
  • Prepares routine licensing reports.
  • Work may involve taking on various administrative responsibilities in order to allow management to focus on critical issues.
  • Coordinates a variety of advanced, diversified, and/or confidential administrative support functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


PREFERENCES:

Preference may be given to those with previous licensing experience.
Preference may be given to those with previous pharmacy experience.

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge of Licensing Board statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • State and Federal Laws pertaining to licensure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Business)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None

Necessary Special Requirements


PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.
  • Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
