SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately sets tables and buffets for banquet functions according to BEO's specifications and/or guest's requests.
  • Provides service for banquet functions as required for that event.
  • Clears banquet tables and clean banquet rooms upon conclusion of all functions.
  • Handles last minute requests by guests and/or supervisor.
  • Provide a warm and sincere greeting to all guests at beginning of all banquet functions.
  • Bid all guests a sincere farewell at the conclusion of all banquet functions.
  • Completes all prep work for banquet event, (i.e., waters, butters, creams, breadbaskets etc.) prior to function's start time. Be ready to begin service and at attention at least 15 minutes prior to start time of every function.
  • Completes all side work duties prior to going home to include filling salt and pepper shakers, cleaning out and refilling sugar bowls, putting away mirrors cleaning of banquet kitchens, etc.
  • Sets coffee services in banquet rooms as specified on the BEOs.
  • Reports all maintenance issues regarding equipment, banquet rooms and storage areas to supervisor.
  • Refreshes meeting rooms at noon as required by guests or supervisors specified on BEOs.
  • Accurately sets up rooms according to BEO specifications as required by guests or supervisor.
  • Must be able to memorize, explain and recite menu for event where server is working.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of one year of serving experience required.
  • Able to safely carry up to 35lbs above shoulder on an oval tray through a crowded room.
  • Must be able to carry 12 plates with lids on an oval tray.
  • Experience in both A La Carte and Banquet preferred.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Riverside Food Handlers Card by first day of employment.
  • Must have flexible schedule and ability to work weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to walk and use full range of hands, arms, and legs.
  • Frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may be very loud at times.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, menus, instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
