The Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) follows all required safety protocols, prepares and positions patients for injections, and fluoroscopically assists physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic diseases or injuries of the spine utilizing c-arm related equipment. This position travels with assigned physician between Tampa, Safety Harbor, and Riverview locations:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares patient for fluoroscopic spine procedures following meticulous safety guidelines
• Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards
• Complies with all safety standards, consistently communicates, and pays strict attention to detail
• Monitors supplies and submits purchase requests to maintain proper supply levels
• Travels to specific clinic locations to perform radiologic duties
• Prepares lab specimens and completes process for LabCorp pickups
• Performs other duties as directed or assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• Florida licensure as a Basic X-Ray Machine Operator required
• At least one (1) year BMO experience in an orthopaedic environment, office, clinic, or hospital
• Experienced in use of c-arm and related equipment
• Broad knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology and sterile technique
• Advanced knowledge of orthopedic spine anatomy and terminology
• Excellent written and verbal communicator
• Thrives at a fast pace and adjusts flexibly to a continually changing environment
• Utilizes good judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively understand, follow, and communicate oral and written instructions in English. Must read, write, and speak English fluently to ensure clear work-related communication and patient safety.
• Experience using AllScripts EHR/EMR systems preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds at times
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting at a desk while working on a computer
