The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is the clinical supervisor primarily responsible for overseeing the HBTS Treatment Plan and reporting on the goals and objectives during renewal and progress reports as required. Is also required to observe and supervise all Behavior Specialists assigned to each Treatment Plan as outlined in the standards, as well as communicating with all collateral agencies and providers, and keeping all treatment and case records current. In addition, the BCBA is responsible for ensuring that the agency policies and procedures are implemented correctly. The BCBA will be part of a mobile treatment team with a mix of office and remote work, in addition to completing in-person home visits. Caseload for this position can have clients in various cities and towns throughout RI. Salary based on experience

Broad Areas of Responsibility

Participating in Agency activities, serving on committees, communicating the Agency’s values and principles to others; assisting in staff management and leadership; providing training and mentoring to new and existing employees; guiding and supervising the work of Behavior Specialists by setting clear expectations and monitoring progress; recognizing and valuing the skills and input of employees; implementing best practice measures in relation to all clinical and counseling responsibilities.

Competency Areas:

  • Willing to learn and utilize unique language programming (Early Intervention for Children with ASD Considerations S.K.Lund & Alan Schnee BCBA) to facilitate skill acquisition and behavior reduction paired with principles and methodologies of ABA.
  • Accept and offer collaborative feedback and constructive criticism from all members of the clinical team
  • Willing to participate in a comprehensive “hands on “training approach that includes one on one direct instruction with clients and shadowing senior clinical team members
  • Will be flexible regarding scheduling and client needs
  • Invested and interested in the growth and development of the ABA team (care giver enrichment program, school contracting, social skills groups)
  • Willing to be an active and equal participant of a vibrant and skilled collaborative team of professionals.

Minimal Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with highest level of licensure for that discipline. Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle. Must not have more than 2 moving violations within a 3 year period
  • Must have a clean criminal and DCYF background check
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have experience working with children with special healthcare needs

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a practicing BCBA
  • Experience working with children with special health care needs
  • Ability to collect and analyze data
  • Experience supervising and training Behavior Specialists (direct care staff)
  • Considerable knowledge of clinical treatments (skill building, behavior reduction, etc.) trends and resources for children with special health care needs
