The purpose of this job is to be part of a collaborative care team to provide behavioral health assessments and brief treatment in the primary care medical home. This level of service is equivalent to outpatient.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts assessments of new patients ages (0-21) using the identified format for documentation and clinical decisions regarding treatment, interventions, and referrals, as instructed. Implements, improves, and adapts concepts, models, and constructs of treatment for application in service delivery to patients.
• Maintains a template of 35 sessions per week when full time (pro-rated for part time).
• Participates in clinical team meetings at least 1-2 times per month.
• Develops positive working relationship within pediatric primary care office and comfort working within a medical office setting.
• Completes documentation in 24-48 hours.
• Collaborates with care team to ensure patients treatment goals are being met.
• Utilizes a relevant and evidence-based treatment approach in the context of the program as appropriate. Knowledgeable in CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Parent Management Training.
• Independently demonstrates competency in management of administrative responsibilities associated with patient care with minimal supervision.
• Grows clinical skills by learning and implementing new treatment approaches on a regular basis.
• Reviews cases and/or groups periodically, as well as serious clinical patient condition changes with supervisor and other clinical personnel as indicated.
• Participates in the mentoring of student interns or new hires.
• Participates in the quality assurance and performance improvement activities of the program.
• Assesses changing needs of patients per guidelines for pediatric primary care and is able to make appropriate referrals to different levels of care.
• Knowledge and understanding of medication prescribed in pediatrics for mental health concerns.
• Ability to show dignity and respect to all patients regardless of sexual orientation, religion, race, ethnicity, etc.
• Collaboration with our partners at CHP and Western Behavioral Health for care of shared patients.

Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.Two years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions required.Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
