Description
As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Metals Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business. The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.
The Benefits & Compensation Manager - Americas will partner with the Global Total Rewards Department Head and Human Resources leadership to analyze and assist in the administration and design of both Compensation as well as Benefit programs with respect to various BASF Catalyst Programs. The individual must work be able to work independently and collaboratively. Individual must serve as a team member and provide leadership to other department members. He/she must be able to thrive in a fast and dynamic fast-paced environment. Partner with the Department leadership to assure all compensation and benefit programs within the Americas are administered in accordance with the plan documents and current legal requirements. Provide leadership to guide the vendor relationships with external benefits and compensation vendors. Make recommendations to HRIS team to assure that internal systems are operating in accordance with plan specifications. Proposes system enhancements to incorporate and maintain best practices. Provide leadership on both benefit and compensation related projects. Responsible for maintaining & and assisting with annual benefit open enrollments. Responsible for guiding the annual merit review process and bonus process Serves as the subject matter expert for assigned benefit plans and compensation programs. Coordinates various government filings. Supports and works with both internal and external auditors as needed. Assists with the leadership of the benefits strategy, implementation, and enrollment activities. Assists with the leadership of the compensation strategy, implementation, and enrollment activities.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Your formula for Success
- Educated to degree level and / or post graduate diploma
- Minimum 5 years of experience within HR leadership positions
- Experience managing benefit programs
- Strong knowledge of defined contribution plans
- Ideally the candidate will have experience leading teams and overseeing firm-wide initiatives
- A proactive and solution-based mindset is essential for this role; equally important is critical thinking
- Ability to work as part of a professional team and manage a demanding customer base and progressive workload is essential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment is crucial
- Excellent communication skills including influencing and negotiating are required
- Ability to lead business units through annual processes
- Strong leadership skills required
