Your Duties:

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team out of our Overland Park, Kansas office. Duties would include:

  • Performing wildlife field surveys and habitat assessments using a variety of survey techniques (e.g., avian point-count surveys, bat acoustic surveys, raptor nest searches, eagle use surveys, bat mist-netting, and radio telemetry)
  • Frequent travel to project sites which require overnight stays.
  • Ability to work independently with direction from Project Manager or Task Lead
  • Assist lead biologist with wetland and habitat delineations.
  • Record, enter, organize, manage, and analyze data.
  • Write technical reports for client and regulatory agency review (e.g., survey summaries, risk assessments)
  • Use of ArcGIS FieldMaps for navigation and to collect data.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related field
  • Must be comfortable operating computers, tablets, and Global Positioning System units.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to solve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Complete tasks with consideration of their own and the team’s safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work remotely in varying terrain and weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel (80-90%) to project sites
  • Flexible with changing tasks and timelines
  • Willingness to work on weekends, as needed.
