We are seeking a qualified BCBA Clinician for our Home-Based and Center-Based ABA Program. The BCBA Clinician is responsible for conducting assessments to determine the needs of children with Special Healthcare Needs, as well as continually monitoring and documenting the child’s progress and overall adjustment to the program. The BCBA Clinician’s functions are performed as part of a team and include development and implementation of an individual’s treatment plan.
As a BCBA Clinician, you will be responsible for:
- Protecting the rights and dignities of children with special healthcare needs and extending these rights and dignities to family members
- Assisting in the organization, development, and oversight of the HBTS-ABA Program
- Coordinating clinical behavioral services to include appropriate allocation of resources as well as the recruitment, hiring, and supervising of staff to provide effective and efficient services to children and families
- Designing staff training programs to promote the professional development of staff at various levels
- Participating in all clinical facets of client treatment, which includes assessment, goal development, report creation and maintenance, recommending appropriate intervention plans, and training staff on treatment implementation
- Collaborating with the ABA Program Clinical Supervisor and Director to develop policies and procedures specific to the HBTS-ABA program
- Meeting with family/staff as necessary to discuss concerns regarding programs and/or staff when indicated
- Providing parent trainings to aid families with the carryover of treatment and enable continuity outside of direct treatment sessions
- Maintaining licensure and any required certifications (e.g. BCBA certification); responsible for tracking and monitoring the amount of Continuing Education required
- Remaining informed on evidence-based practices through ongoing education via conferences, reviewing literature, etc.
- Conducting on-site observations and evaluations of staff working with clients. This may involve participation in supervising students that are engaged in a BCBA training program
- Presenting case reviews to consultants, reviewing incident management reports, and developing curriculum for home-based programming
- Performing any other job responsibilities as assigned by the Director
Education/ Requirements:
- BCBA certification through the BACB and licensure in Rhode Island as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA)
- A minimum of two years of experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders
- Experience developing individual child curriculum preferred as well as experience in training others to implement evidence-based practices
- Skills in effective communication with parents and community-based stakeholders is essential
- Experience with research projects and dissemination of research/applied work (publications/presentations) strongly considered
- Must successfully pass pre-employment physical as well as BCI and CANTs screenings
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and automobile insurance required
