Job Title: Brake Press Operator
Job Type: Full-time, First shift
Compensation: $16-$22/hr
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced press brake operator. The press brake operator will be responsible for shaping various types of metal using the press brake machine, maintaining the machine, reading blueprints, inspecting sheet metal, and following safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use the press brake machine to shape different types of metal, primarily sheet metal
- Load and align pieces of metal into the machine for shaping or straightening
- Set up and maintain the press brake machine, including changing oil and filters and degreasing various parts
- Read and follow detailed blueprints and schematics
- Monitor sheet metal as it’s being shaped and inspect fresh sheet metal for imperfections and overall quality
- Follow company, state, and federal safety regulations, including wearing proper protective equipment and keeping the work area clean and organized
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with presses in a manufacturing environment.
- Physical fitness: Ability to lift and move large pieces of metal and stand for hours at a time
- Analytical thinking: Ability to monitor work processes and inspect various types of metal
- Mathematics: Ability to read and interpret blueprints with precise measurements and make necessary calculations to shape metal to match designs
- Communication skills: Ability to work in a collaborative environment with other manufacturers and factory workers
- Measuring skills: Ability to work with multiple measuring tools and make precise measurements using metric and US measuring systems
- Time management skills: Ability to work within deadlines and complete tasks efficiently
- Computer skills: Familiarity with digital work order systems and the ability to enter programmed instructions into the press brake machine
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
