Position Summary:
As an industry leader in wholesale, retail, and residential food distribution, Baldor Specialty Foods continues to grow and evolve at a rapid pace across all departments. The Maintenance Helper position requires the ability to perform skilled work such as electrical and mechanical installation, maintenance, operations, testing, troubleshooting, inspections and repair work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in troubleshooting and expediting repairs of essential machines and equipment as needed.
• Performs minor electrical work: replacing wall bulbs, light sockets and switches.
• Performs minor carpentry projects: repairs walls and furnishings, patches or replaces plaster/plaster board, paints walls and woodwork.
• Performs periodic standard inspections and preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Plan, organize work, and meet all deadlines.
• Ensure all flammable materials are stored in OSHA and EPA-approved container devices.
• May provide assistance to more skilled workers performing installation, adjustment, maintenance, parts, replacement, and repairs.
• Report any serious maintenance problems or safety hazards to the facilities supervisor and safety.
• Proficient in all safety and housekeeping requirement.
• Comply with safety and environmental rules and regulations, hazardous materials and oil spill prevention programs, and other applicable company policies or plans;
• Under direct supervision, work with a small team or alone to achieve task specific goals as mentioned above.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• 2-year technical degree in electrical or mechanical discipline preferred.
• Able to work in cold warehouse environment (36°F – 38°F).
• Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
