Job Summary:

FOCUS Broadband is seeking a Business Services Technician who is a motivated self-starter responsible for the design and deployment of FOCUS Broadband Business Solutions. Daily this technician will be installing, repairing, or providing a variety of support to business class broadband customers around the FOCUS Broadband network areas. The technician will need to use their trained expertise to provide solutions to support the customer’s needs. Currently, with FOCUS Broadband’s expansion, a candidate will need to be able to work independently while upholding FOCUS Broadband’s commitment to excellent customer service.

• Clear and concise communication skills with internal as well as external customers.
• Must maintain a good driving record and a valid driver’s license.
• Ensure adherence to FOCUS Broadband & OSHA safety regulations.
• Responsible for the installation and maintenance of a wide variety of products and services such as key systems, VoIP systems, PBX’s, IP routers and switches, and related products and services. Provides information to appropriate parties for preparing proposals, job specifications, and quotes for equipment sales to new and existing customers. Processes customer orders upon acceptance of proposals.
• Installs new services and equipment for subscribers by configuring system hardware and software via appropriate interfaces, installing premise wiring, connector blocks, station protectors, and network devices. Wire new systems using appropriate tools.
• Maintains and repairs existing services and equipment by using test sets to locate troubles. Able to determine the necessary repairs which may include repairing wire, station protectors, ground connections, running new wire, replacing jacks, and configuring hardware and software via appropriate interfaces.
• Responsible for customer training and explanation of system features, new and existing.
• Interface with customers to determine problems and acceptable resolutions.
• Completes all outside plant installation and repair-related forms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An associate degree in a related technical field is preferred.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in installation & repair or similar work experience.
• Must be working towards or have completed CompTIA Network+ certification within 12 months of accepting the position
