Looking to fill a Cake Decorator position to add to our team in the Bakery Department. Fun and a fast-paced work environment. Must be motivated and ready to work. Cake decorating experience and attention at detail is a must for this position. Starting rate of pay is $17.50.

Position Summary
Cuts, fills, and ices cakes. Decorates and writes messages on cakes using pastry bags and tips. Packages cakes for special order and back stock.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Checks cake order stand for special orders.
• Checks daily inventory on floor and pulls stock from freezer or cooler to fill merchandise area.
• De-pans, garnishes, and packages baked cheesecakes. Places finished product on racks and transfers racks to cooler, freezer or wrapping area.
• Checks production schedule for daily needs. Processes all cakes following assembly instruction in Cake Decorating

Manual. Cut half-sheet cakes in half to prep for filling. Fill and ice cakes following weight instructions. Decorate cakes per decorating guidelines.

• Assists with other bakery duties as needed.
• Provides prompt and courteous member service.
• Follows SSOP guidelines as they refer to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.
• Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and department.
• Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Oven racks, wheeled racks, cake slicing machine, calculator, wrapping machine, scales, pan dollies, apricot glazer, cake scorer, spatulas, cake stamps, icing bags, tips, commercial dishwasher, knives, labeler, mixer.

Non-Essential Functions

• Assists with front end duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Cash register, tabletop/hand-held scanners, carts, flatbeds.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:

• Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option

STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 1 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler's Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction).

• Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.

Recommended:

• Cake decorating or comparable experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Math skills preferred.
