Job Description:

The Enhanced Registrar provides extraordinary care to our customers through friendly, courteous, and professional service. This position registers patients in multiple service lines. The Registrar obtains and inputs all necessary demographic, financial, and clinical information from the patient or representative.

  • Utilizes multiple electronic medical records and reports to accurately identify cases with new cancer diagnoses. Coordinates multidisciplinary case presentation at care site cancer conferences with physicians, radiology and pathology departments.
  • Under the supervision of a Certified Tumor Registrar, trains to perform abstraction duties.
  • Completes department and Intermountain Healthcare required continuous training and education. Attends all team, departmental and system required meetings.
  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Healthcare, and abides by service behavior standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Health Information Management required
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and /or Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) is required
  • One year previous work experience in physician office or hospital medical records department Strong understanding of electronic medical records and the ability to research and locate important information within the EMR is required


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience within cancer registry is preferred
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.
  • Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
  • May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$16.00 - $24.88
