Career Specialist - Make a difference in the life of someone with autism.
- Providing high-quality, individualized job coaching and career planning to participants on the Autism spectrum in Marion county and the surrounding counties.
- Demonstrating the ability to follow person-centered plans and goals with measurable outcomes, along with the ability to accurately report on activities completed toward progress made towards such plans and goals; this includes the awareness of any and all paperwork required by Vocational Rehabilitation and the knowledge to carry out what is directed by the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
- After completing a guided tutorial, using Therap, the Autism Society of Indiana’s database, accurately detailing the type of service (Discovery, Milestones, etc) time spent with the participant and activities performed during said time with the participant in a timely manner;
- Completing discovery profiles and other required paperwork required from Vocational Rehab and submitting it as required. Also communicating with VRC to report progress towards goals and any additional help needed.
- Remaining current with required documentation and certification (i.e. valid driver’s license, auto insurance and vehicle registration if transporting participants);
- Maintaining consistent communication with the Autism Society of Indiana and by way of phone or the email address provided by the organization, while ensuring all correspondence is secure and confidential per HIPAA guidelines;
- Maintaining his/her own or access to a mobile phone, laptop or desktop computer and well-maintained vehicle, as applicable;
- Remaining up to date with new policies or procedures as often as communicated or deemed necessary by the Autism Society of Indiana.
