Job description
Job responsibilities include the following:
- Interviewing consumers and gathering diagnostics reports to assist counselors with determining eligibility
- Developing individualized plans for employment; documenting casework and provision of substantial services
- Providing follow-up with consumers, employers, vendors, and other agency personnel as needed
- Provide support as designated by the counselor
- Assisting vocational rehabilitation staff with employment marketing skills workshops
- Assisting individuals in completing job applications
- Working with community employers using the dual customer approach to directly place highly qualified consumers with disabilities in appropriate jobs for successful outcomes
- Working collaboratively with community partners
- Inputting casework data into relevant applications throughout the rehabilitation process
- Preparing documents including authorizations and correspondences as needed
- Completing all related administrative tasks

- Proven ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with consumers, employers and general public
- Competence in computer usage to include word-processing, spreadsheets, data entry, email, and Internet.
- Working knowledge and ability to perform basic administrative tasks.
- Good interpersonal skills and experience working with youth and adults with disabilities
- Working knowledge of the purpose, services, and programs offered by Vocational Rehabilitation.
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
